Johannesburg, 03 April 2020: As South Africans pass the 7-day mark of our country-wide lockdown, spirits seem a little higher. Blame it on the fact that we’ve lost all sense of time – or, that The Daily Show host, Trevor Noah took time out of his day to wish us well. Either way, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Off the back of his interview with one of America’s top medical experts, Dr Anthony Fauci, Trevor took to the camera to remind South Africans to listen to the Government’s call to stay at home. He suggests FaceTiming with friends and family and even recommends an indoor braai. Proving that you can take the man out of Mzansi, but you can’t take Mzansi out of the man.

Streaming live from his home in New York, Trevor’s shoutout also reminds locals that we’re all in this together. This, tying into ViacomCBS’ #AloneTogether campaign that aims to communicate the importance of social distancing if we’re to flatten the COVID-19 curve. The effort, led by the company’s portfolio of entertainment and youth brands – which includes Comedy Central – encourages people to stay home, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms.

Besides letting us know who he is, as if we needed reminding – Trevor leaves us with this all-important message: “All I can ask you as my fellow South Africans is please, let’s work together on this!”

To make time spent at home a little easier as we remain #AloneTogether, catch The Daily Social Distancing Show with Trevor Noah, Tuesdays to Fridays at 22:30 CAT on Comedy Central Africa (DStv Channel 122). Reporting live from his couch – our local celeb tackles all things COVID-19 keeping us informed and entertained.
